Community

While our business focuses on the sales and marketing of virology therapeutics, our identity as an organization encompasses more than simply what we market – it extends to what we do and how we conduct our business in the communities that we serve.

As part of a global health care organization, we touch many people through our products, employment, community outreach and partnerships, all of which allow us to expand our ability to help communities and improve public health, especially in the area of HIV. Our key programs focus on Volunteer Efforts and Patient Advocacy.

Community Outreach Efforts
Tibotec Therapeutics believes that actions speak louder than words. We are committed to living Our Credo by making community service a top priority through the following company contributions:

The Giving Network Committee (Group of Tibotec Therapeutics and Ortho Biotech employees who identify and provide opportunities for employees to participate in community outreach.)
Jeans Wednesdays Donation Days allow employees to wear jeans in exchange for a donation to charitable organizations. Some of the organizations that we have supported through Jeans Day, include:

Blood Donations
Donating blood saves lives. The compassion of our employees is demonstrated during our blood drives, which take place approximately three times a year.

Toys for Tots
Delivering hundreds of toys to the Marine Corp Headquarters.

Suburban Cultural Educational Enrichment Program (SCEEP)
Employees serve as tutors for approximately 15-20 third grade students who get picked up at a school in Newark, New Jersey and arrive at our cafeteria weekly for a healthy snack and one hour of tutoring.

Fundraising and awareness walks and runs
Company employees volunteer at walks and runs such as the Hyacinth – AIDS Walk NJ, Walk with Us to Cure Lupus, Race for the Cure, and The American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Grant Giving
Providing support to HIV/AIDS healthcare professional organizations, advocacy organizations, and AIDS service organizations is a key aspect of the company’s overall support for the HIV/AIDS community. We are committed to advancing educational programs and awareness. We do this by supporting educational programs for health care professionals that are either accredited (CME) or non-accredited. We also support patient education programs and materials developed by advocacy and AIDS service organizations. In addition to educational support, we also provide charitable contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations for specific fundraising events.

Diversity Outreach Efforts
Tibotec Therapeutics is committed to supporting and encouraging diversity of cultures, backgrounds and thought throughout its business. Women's Leadership Initiative (WLI)
Supports leadership development initiatives for increasing numbers of women in leadership positions while fostering an inclusive organizational environment with shared responsibilities and recognition that diverse leadership will enhance Johnson & Johnson's effectiveness and business success. The WLI mission is to make Johnson & Johnson the employer of choice for talented women in health care.

African American Leadership Council (AALC)
The AALC's mission is to take a leadership role in making Johnson & Johnson the company of choice for African-American talent at every level.

Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Achievement (HOLA)
HOLA's vision is to be an organization focused on developing leaders to support Johnson & Johnson’s objective for growth. Their objectives are to be a grass-roots organization that values, optimizes and leverages J&J internal and external resources to increase Johnson & Johnson’s market competitiveness in the fast-growing Hispanic consumer base.

South Asian Professional Network and Association (SAPNA)
SAPNA, literally translated from Hindi to mean "a dream," evolved from a series of meetings in late 2002. With a vision of developing a forum for South Asian professionals to celebrate and promote diversity within the company, the organization has blossomed into an association with more than 360 members.

Gay and Lesbian Organization for Business and Leadership (GLOBAL)
GLOBAL is a group of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) professionals and supporters within the company who joined together to foster a respectful environment for GLBT employees and to provide support related to GLBT concerns.

The Community of Asian Associates at Johnson & Johnson (CAAJJ)
CAAJJ is a diverse group of professionals committed to fulfilling the Johnson & Johnson Credo responsibilities. In particular, they contribute their diverse knowledge, skills, insights, contacts, and leadership to the development of their members, our Asian customers and communities.
